Stuffed dolls
Stuffed dolls are known to date back to the 1830s. They
are created from textiles. Because of this, it is possible for older
forms to have existed which did not survive time. However, the origins
of today's designs are quite easily traced.
There are a wide range of materials used to create stuffed dolls. Plush,
cloth, and fur textures are just a few examples of fabrics used for
their surfaces. Some also incorporate harder materials for their out
forms, such as plastic. Internally, straw, plastic pellets, beans, cotton,
and synthetic fibers may all be used to fill these products.
Stuffed dolls are popular early toy choices for children. One main
reason for this is because they do not have dangerous parts on which
a child can hurt him- or herself. Another reason is because their soft
textures can be very comforting.
